Project desription.
The Contemporary Art Center “Hotel Continental” in Mariupol represents a unique multidisciplinary space, becoming the first of its kind in Ukraine. It aimed to bring together various directions of contemporary art under one roof, including visual arts, music, theater, literature, and cinema. Located in a historic 19th-century building, this center was to serve as a meeting place for creators, curators, and art enthusiasts from around the world.
An important mission of “Hotel Continental” was to support and develop young Ukrainian artists by providing them with a platform for expression and realization of their ideas. The center planned not only to organize exhibitions of new talents but also to conduct residency programs where artists could work on their projects with the necessary support and resources.
Beyond artistic events, “Hotel Continental” aimed to play a significant role in the social and educational life of the Mariupol community. The center was to organize educational programs and workshops for children and adults, aimed at developing critical thinking and creativity through art.
